Bellmore Station, on the Babylon Branch, has a weekday ridership of approximately 7,000 customers. The station has received a full menu of station upgrades, including platform rehabilitation and a new platform canopy. The platform waiting room has been renovated and now includes new windows, doors, wall tiles, lighting and a new HVAC system.
The station building has been upgraded with the replacement of wall tiles, new signage, lighting, bulletin boards, CCTV security cameras, new ticket windows and refurbished restrooms with ADA-compliant fixtures; the stairs and escalator have also been updated to complement other refurbishments at the station. New bench seating, USB charging stations, information kiosks, free public Wi-Fi and various art and historic elements have been added to the station environment to improve and enhance the overall customer experience. These enhancements are part of a larger LIRR modernization project to improve customer experiences and contribute to the growth of the economy of Long Island.
