Support of Excavation Walls Installed at Westbury North Parking Structure

Westbury North Parking Garage 07-08-19

Following the commencement of excavation at the Westbury North Parking Structure, Support of Excavation (SOE) walls are being installed at the project – these walls are part of a temporary earth retaining system intended to control the ground to facilitate a safe and efficient space for construction. The site is being prepped for foundation work, and rebar has been delivered ahead of further concrete pours. Excavation is expected to be completed this month, with foundation work scheduled for completion in December. The entire structure is scheduled for completion by spring 2021.

The Westbury North Parking Structure is a new four-level, 676-space parking structure currently under construction near the Westbury Station north of the LIRR tracks and occupying the current surface parking lot south of Scally Place. The new garage will retain 106 surface parking spaces and will add a net increase of 481 parking spaces.
